If you just updated to iOS 8.4 and Apple Music and are now getting an error stating \ »Cloud Music Library can’t be enabled\ », you’re not alone. I got it too, and here’s how I fixed it… at least for now! My guess is that Apple servers are being slammed and iTunes is getting some occasional errors. So, patience and persistence wins out. Here’s what I did and how I got iCloud Music Library to work. Note: iCloud Music Library seems to be the new name for iTunes Match and/or similar features contained as part of Apple Music. How to enable iCloud Music Library on your IPHONE and IPAD Launch Settings from the Home screen. Tap Music (note, the icon has changed colors). Toggle iCloud Music Library to On. Choose if you want to Replace or Merge your library. (I ultimately chose Merge when it worked). If you get the error again, dismiss it. Repeat steps 3-4 until it works. Seriously. That’s what I did. You may have to wait a while and repeat, in case the servers are really getting slammed. Let me know if it works for you!

It’s not just Apple Music that’s new—the whole Music app on IPHONE and IPAD has been given a complete redesign. And while Apple Music gives you access to the complete iTunes catalog, with or without it, the new Music app still gives you a ton of features focused around your music. That includes local music management, playlists, the Up Next queue, and even AirPlay to your Apple TV or connected speakers. Here’s how to use it all! It sits at the bottom of the screen and stays there as you browse tracks, check out the radio, and even connect to your favorite artists. And by being there, the mini player makes it easy to not only control what you’re listening to, but escalate to the full Now Playing screen whenever and where ever the need arises. Best of all, it’s simple to use—once you get the hang of it!
